Job overview and responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Country Manager Brazil, has the responsibility to manage all Technical Operations activities within the station ensuring the highest levels of safety, operational performance and regulatory compliance whilst maintaining a strong focus on product and process improvement, cost control, productivity, and team building
  • Supports Country manager to plan and actively manage both long range and day-to-day maintenance operations within the region
  • Works closely with direct reports and labor to ensure optimal productivity, positive labor relations and adequate resources are available to support the mission
  • Execution of departmental strategy and business plan through direct leadership of station maintenance personnel
  • Shared responsibility for budgetary compliance and cost control within the station
  • Provide leadership and direction to maintenance organization including labor workforce to maximize productivity and output in accordance with collective bargaining agreements where applicable whilst ensuring necessary resources are available
  • Build / reinforce a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of CBA work rules and company policies
  • Execute station performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of operational, financial, compliance, safety, and human resource related performance objectives
  • Ensure safety and security of aircraft and operations
  • Interface with aircraft maintenance vendors, regulatory authorities, and local governments to ensure regulatory compliance of technical operations activities
  • Maintain a high level of communication with all levels & employee groups within the station
  • Report status of operations, highlighting significant events to Leadership whilst providing direction to assigned station personnel to ensure divisional objectives are achieved
  • Assign projects where applicable

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • College Degree Diploma (Preferrable) or High School Technical Diploma, or equivalent
  • FAA A&P License - Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and applicable FAA regulations
  • Strong background and technical knowledge on fleet types operated and its maintenance programs
  • 10 years in aircraft maintenance industry with a minimum of 3 years in a management role
  • International vendor contract with regulatory experience
  • Strong Cultural awareness to build and maintain professional relationships on a global basis
  • Continuous Improvement (CI) experience focused on quality assurance, productivity, and logistics
  • Vast knowledge and experience dealing with regulatory matters, such as Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health, Airport and Governmental norms that may be applied to the airline industry
  • Project management and development
  • High Level of SMS knowledge
  • Must possess a valid local driver’s license
  • Fluent written & spoken English and Portuguese
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Brazil for any employer without sponsorship
  • Must hold a valid Passport and U.S. Visa (Prescheduled US Consulate visit will be accepted)
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position Preferred
  • 2 years in a leadership role in the industry - Strong background & technical knowledge on fleet types operated and maintenance programs
