PDS Tech is hiring a Cleanroom Process Technician to support advanced semiconductor and microsystem manufacturing in Schenectady, NY. This is a first shift, temp-to-hire opportunity where your technical skills directly impact production quality, process development, and equipment performance.

Shift: 1st Shift (Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
Pay Rate: $30.00/hour

Position OverviewThe Cleanroom Process Technician is responsible for executing semiconductor manufacturing processes, supporting equipment operation and maintenance, and contributing to process development and experimentation. This role requires strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a controlled cleanroom environment with hazardous materials.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Execution & Cleanroom OperationsExecute semiconductor process steps per detailed, documented procedures
Perform inspections, measurements, and ensure process accuracy
Maintain strict adherence to cleanroom protocols and documentation standards
Support development and build of microsystems and semiconductor devices
Data Collection & AnalysisCollect, record, and report process data
Assist in interpreting results and determining next steps
Maintain thorough and accurate documentation
Equipment Maintenance & TroubleshootingOperate and maintain semiconductor processing equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and systems
Troubleshoot basic equipment/process issues and support root cause analysis
Maintain clean and organized work areas and tools
Safety & ComplianceComply with all EHS policies and procedures
Safely handle hazardous chemicals and gases
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment
Team & Operational SupportManage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Communicate effectively across teams and shifts
Contribute to team goals through strong individual performance
Performance ExpectationsMaintain high quality and consistency in process execution

Required QualificationsETCHING experience (REQUIRED)
Experience working in a cleanroom environment
Ability to read and execute detailed work instructions
Strong multitasking, organization, and communication skills
Ability to safely work with hazardous chemicals and gases
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree + 2 years of relevant experience
OR
Associate’s or technical degree + 5 years of relevant experience
5+ years of semiconductor or related experience preferred
Technical SkillsStrong mechanical and electrical aptitude
Experience with semiconductor processing equipment
Understanding of vacuum systems (preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Tools & Equipment Experience
Work Environment & Physical RequirementsCleanroom manufacturing environment
Use of PPE and strict contamination control procedures
Standing, walking, and working with precision equipment for extended periods
Handling of chemicals and working with specialized gas systems

Pay Details: $30.00 to $29.00 per hour
