Job Title: Head Flight Instructor
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced aviation professional to lead and manage a growing flight training program serving approximately 140 students. As the Head Flight Instructor, you will play a key role in guiding instructional staff, maintaining training quality, and ensuring compliance with aviation standards. This role partners closely with the Assistant Chief Instructor and serves as a primary liaison with university leadership and regulatory agencies.
Key Duties:
- Oversee daily flight training operations to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction
- Review and approve student training documentation, including graduation and testing records
- Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations of flight instructors to ensure proficiency and standardization
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance feedback to instructional staff
- Monitor student advancement and coordinate scheduling and dispatch to support training progression
- Lead regular team meetings and communicate operational updates
- Maintain professional communication with FAA representatives and airport authorities
Required Experience & Skills:
- Previous leadership experience as a Chief or Assistant Chief Flight Instructor
- In-depth knowledge of FAA Part 141 and Part 61 regulations
- Demonstrated success managing a structured flight training program
- Experience collaborating with external partners such as universities, regulatory bodies, or aviation organizations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background working within a university-affiliated aviation training program

Work Setting:

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
